Welcome to The First Baptist Church of Bastrop web site. Please excuse the dust while our site
is under construction. While you are here, take a look at the upcomming events or listen to Sunday's
sermon. We invite you to check back weekly as new and exciting things will be happening here and
with God's message.
You have before you a history
of a church that has been in existence for one hundred and fifty years. It is a record
of faithful men and women of God who saw a vision for a church in Bastrop, Texas, and
worked to see that vision realized.
From those first seven members in 1850 to the present day, the history of The First
Baptist Church of Bastrop, Texas, is one of sacrifice and dedication in spite of
difficulties and hardships. We thank God for those who came before us. However,
we would do them an injustice if we only cherished our history without building
upon it.
The vision of a church in Bastrop that is a lighthouse of God's love and salvation
to this community is still as vivid for us as it was for them. Our new vision for
First Baptist Church is based on the one that has sustained this church through one
and one-half centuries. May we all honor our history by "Putting Christ First in Our
Family and Our Future".
